Who Will Operate on Me — and When Do I Meet My Surgeon?
In short: The surgeon selected for you during your medical review performs your operation personally. You meet them in person when you arrive in Istanbul, before your surgery. Your anaesthetic is given by a specialist anaesthetist, and every partner hospital has an intensive care unit on site.
How your surgeon is chosen
We select your surgeon during your medical review, based on your case and the procedure you need. Every partner surgeon is a specialist with more than 19 years of experience, and we check each surgeon's registration and specialist training ourselves. How we select surgeons and clinics →
Does the surgeon I'm told about actually operate?
Yes. The surgeon selected for you performs your operation personally — not a colleague or an assistant in their place. This applies to hair transplants too: yours is performed by a plastic surgeon.
When do I meet my surgeon?
In person, when you arrive in Istanbul and before your operation. Your surgeon examines you, goes through your treatment plan with you and answers your questions. Nothing happens until you've had that conversation.
Who else looks after me during surgery?
A specialist anaesthetist gives and monitors your anaesthetic. Every partner hospital has an intensive care unit on site, in case anything unexpected happens.
Can I know who my surgeon is before I travel?
Yes — just ask. Once your surgeon and hospital are selected, we'll tell you who will treat you and where, and put you in direct contact with your treating team in Istanbul.
