A price beside a procedure name can look definitive. It rarely is. Some published figures cover only the surgeon's work; others include the operating room, anaesthesia and follow-up care. Comparing them without checking their scope can create a seriously misleading budget.
This article does not give a Turkish price. We could not identify an authoritative national source for current plastic-surgery prices in Turkey, so presenting a Turkey-versus-US-or-UK price table would suggest a level of evidence that does not exist. Instead, this guide explains what verifiable US and UK figures measure, what they leave out, and how to compare a personalised quote properly.
The US Surgeon-Fee Trap
The current procedure pages published by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) display national average surgeon fees. The live pages call them their latest statistics but do not identify the statistics year. Because a dated primary edition could not be verified, their dollar amounts are not reproduced here.
The figures are not complete treatment prices. ASPS explicitly says that each average is only part of the total and excludes anaesthesia, operating-room facilities and other related expenses. Its procedure pages also identify possible charges including medical tests, medicines and post-surgery garments. The source pages are: breast augmentation, breast lift, rhinoplasty, liposuction, facelift and tummy tuck.
That distinction matters. A person who sees a surgeon-fee average may still need to budget for the anaesthetist, hospital or surgical facility, implants, tests, prescriptions, garments and follow-up care. Unless a quote names every inclusion and possible extra, its headline number is not a reliable total.
What Patients Report Paying in Total
RealSelf's US cost guide uses self-reported information from patient reviews and says its averages include the surgeon's fee, anaesthesia, facility fees and follow-up care. Its procedure pages, updated in 2024, reported averages of $12,239 for rhinoplasty from 1,141 reviews, $12,573 for tummy tuck from 1,218 reviews, and $8,013 for breast augmentation from 2,189 reviews. Read the RealSelf methodology, rhinoplasty data, tummy-tuck data and breast-augmentation data.
These are patient-reported US figures, not a regulated fee schedule or a prediction of what one person will pay. Their value is in showing why totals can be much higher than surgeon-fee averages: they measure more of the bill. They should not be used to calculate a Turkish price or a savings percentage.
UK Guidance Uses Ranges
Current NHS guidance gives UK ranges of £4,000 to £7,000 for nose reshaping, £3,500 to £8,000 for breast implant surgery, and about £3,000 to £8,500 for liposuction. The NHS pages do not display a publication year, so these are described here as current guidance rather than assigned a date.
The scope still differs by procedure. NHS guidance says rhinoplasty patients should also factor in consultations, further surgery and follow-up care. Its breast-enlargement range does not usually include consultations or follow-up care, and future follow-up surgery may cost extra. The liposuction range varies with the provider and body areas treated. Even within one source, a range is a starting point rather than a complete individual quote.
Why There Is No Germany or Turkey Price Table
We could not identify an authoritative national source publishing current, comparable plastic-surgery prices for Germany or Turkey. German professional reporting covers areas such as procedure volumes and patient demographics, but not a national price schedule. Turkey likewise has no authoritative national dataset that would support a defensible procedure-by-procedure comparison.
Commercial clinic pages and directories may publish figures, but their inclusions, dates, methods and commercial interests vary. We have not substituted those figures for primary evidence. That is why this article gives no Turkish price and makes no numerical savings claim.
What Changes the Final Price?
Several factors influence the cost of treatment: the procedure and its complexity, the surgeon's experience, the hospital or operating facility, the length and type of anaesthesia, whether procedures are combined, the implants or other materials selected, and the tests, medicines and garments required.
For treatment abroad, compare medical costs separately from travel and accommodation. Hotel level, length of stay, airport and local transfers, translation, coordination and the duration of aftercare can all change the package total. A lower headline number may simply include less.
How to Compare Quotes Properly
Ask every provider to confirm, in writing, whether the quote includes the surgeon, anaesthesia, operating room or hospital, implants or materials, medical tests, medicines, compression garments, accommodation, transfers and follow-up care. Also ask what happens financially if you need extra nights, further tests or additional treatment.
GlobMedTrust does not publish a generic price because treatment plans and inclusions differ. After medical review, we provide a personalised, itemised quote so you can see what is included before deciding.
